Colonial Gaming Night
On March 27, 2010 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Historic Annapolis Foundation invites the public to experience an evening of 18th-century gaming. Games of all types have been around for centuries and were a favorite pastime of the American colonists. In this lively evening program, guests will snack on a variety of light fare, and sip wines and ales as interpreters in historical dress provide instructions for playing popular games of the day.

The basic rules and strategies for simple games including the card game Quinze, and dice games such as Going to Boston and Inn and Inn, will be taught. These games were popular with colonial men, women, boys and girls of all social classes and were played in tavern and inns, onboard ships, in military camps and at home. A few of these games are all but forgotten, while others are still common today.

Space is limited and reservations are required. Buy your tickets early as this event typically sells out. Participants must be at least 21 years old. For additional information, or reservations, please call 410-267-8146 or visit www.annapolis.org
